The following blog post is dedicated to users who’re experiencing the issue where Internet Explorer redirects to Microsoft Edge.
Some users reported that whenever they try to visit the website in Internet Explorer that comes preinstalled in Windows 10, then instead of opening it in Internet Explorer, the same website is opened in Microsoft Edge. These users have no idea why Internet Explorer automatically redirects to Microsoft Edge.
So here’s what explanation. Usually, this happens when you visit a website that is incompatible with Internet Explorer (let’s say facebook.com), then Microsoft has made settings in both browsers in a way that the same unsupported website will automatically open in Microsoft Edge instead of Internet Explorer.
When this happens Internet Explorer show users a message that reads:
This website works better in Microsoft Edge
Make the switch to Microsoft Edge to experience the web in a whole new way. All your favorites, passwords, and preferences from Internet Explorer can be moved to Microsoft Edge easily.
Accompanied by button to Launch Microsoft Edge
On the other hand, when the same website is opened in Microsoft Edge, then bar appears below the address bar with a message that reads

Always browse with Microsoft to make sure your favorite sites works accompanied by Explorer Microsoft Edge button.
With all this redirecting experience what you should understand is that all the websites that are incompatible with Internet Explorer will be opened automatically in Microsoft Edge. The company made this change just to improve the overall browsing experience.
