    Some users reporting that whenever they head over to Virus and threat protection in the Microsoft Defender app in Windows 10. They are seeing a yellow warning triangle and when they click on it a message appears that reads “Quick Scan due” with x in accompanied by moving dots.

    Usually, it’s a sign that the Security app is scanning your device, but there’s a problem with this, the Quick scan never completes. The worst thing is that even if you restart your device, and head over to the same page, dots start spinning again, and as a result stuck in the scan look.

    The issue is very popular among users who’re using Windows 10 in S Mode. So the question is why this happening? Quick scan due error has no connection with Windows Security, but the Windows Update. There’s a pending update available that needs to be installed.

    In Windows 10 S Mode, if your system isn’t up to date, then the Windows Security app count your device unprotected and as a result, the automated scan process fails

    Fix – Quick Scan Due in Windows 10 S Mode

    Fortunately, it is possible to fix Quick Scan Due issue in Windows 10 in S Mode quickly and easily. Here’s what you need to do

    Launch Settings app by pressing WIN + I keyboard combination and then select Update & Security > Windows Update.

    Here on the right side, check if any latest update is available. If not, click Check for updates. If the latest updates are available on the screen, then download and install.

    Once you have installed all the latest updates available, then reboot your device.

    After doing this, you will no longer see Quick Scan due message on Virus and threat protection page of Security app in Windows 10.
